Life Goes On

While in no way am I proud of all the choices I’ve made or even neutral on the way I’ve lived my life; with time I’m finally seeing that the past does not have to dictate the future. It seems that to be truly grateful for my life today means having gratitude for everything that has led up to this point.

I’m excited to play Samoset’s seaside course and spend some time in the beautiful Rockland area, and this trip is another step in building a life after brain injury.

I hope readers don’t find this latest post completely self-congratulatory. In fact, if anything I want to acknowledge the amazing work done by the ThinkFirst organization. Facilitating ThinkFirst’s great work is the NH Chapter Director Zoe McLaen and some amazing OT’s from Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital Network who present along with me!

The book’s theme of continuous change and novel experiences has certainly held true. I found the story to be surprisingly realistic in it’s proportionality of “good/successful” versus “bad/challenging” situations arising. Whether intended or not, I found a strong message from the tale’s young protagonist was consistent forward motion is paramount to a successful life.

All in all, 2023 was another great year. And although I’m not a fan of cold weather, I’m struck how blessed I am to have Clooney and the amazing David Krempels Brain Injury Center community to return back to: Have a blessed 2024!  

Witnessing his journey to build a life where he positively impacts so many lives as a teacher and coach, and who with my favorite Sister-in law Katie, has given us two little angels (Nora and Ruby!) has been a privilege and inspiring. Of course, perhaps my favorite moment with Andy wasn’t exactly one for a Hallmark Movie…
