Gratitude

Well St. Francis, is it that being recovered that allows one to aid another, or does aiding someone else’s journey boost recovery?  

As a group scattered around the country, we typically rely on virtual mediums to facilitate group discussions, but since we recently celebrated our 10th birthday and hadn’t met face to face for 5 years, 2025 was the year to come together!

I’m excited to play Samoset’s seaside course and spend some time in the beautiful Rockland area, and this trip is another step in building a life after brain injury.

While the words gratitude and amazement may seem to be chosen without much thought, each  serve as appropriate descriptors of where I find myself almost seven thousand days into a new life after brain injury!

The 2025 edition marked BIANH’s 41st gathering focused on “Brain injury and stroke support, prevention, education, and advocacy for survivors and caregivers.”

I can only imagine Ann’s thoughts after we left. A recently opened pet store proprietor following an unsolicited visit from some guy accompanied by his obviously physically injured son claiming to be the founder of a large animal nutrition company!
