Life Goes On Recovery

Therapy that’s “A refreshment of strength and spirits after work”?

Northeast Passage’s (NEP) involvement in the King Challenge really makes it possible for the Doc King Adaptive Ride to happen. I can’t remember if it was at Krempels Center, where NEP frequently offers physical activity groups for members, that I was introduced to this wonderful non-profit; or when my brother played sled hockey while at UNH. Begun in 1990 as a private non-profit, after years of successful collaboration, NEP officially merged with UNH’s College of Health and Human Services.

If it’s not fun, why do it?

To see the community come together to support KC and be cheered on by the other participants really means a lot. I guess you could call it a true win-win, or rather a win-win-win…Participants have a great time, Krempels Center is supported with important funding, and a lot of people receive the benefits of recreation!

I know that it was November of 2008 when I first attended KC and while I can’t remember exactly when I met David, it was an instant connection. I like to think of him as “my brother from another mother!” The fact that we’re both vertically challenged may have contributed to our becoming fast friends, but we’ve come to discover many common interests.

My name is Clooney

Let me start with an introduction; my name is Clooney and I just turned 9, that’s the equivalent of 63 years old for you bipeds. I first met Jim in December of 2012 when I was about 6 months old after a long drive up from Georgia. It’s been great living with Jim and the five different roommates we’ve had over the years. They’ve all been really nice to me. It was fun when my Golden cousin Sophie, Uncle Andy, and Aunt Katie moved in the other room for a while, although it got a little crowded in Jim’s bed when Soph fell asleep in there with Jim and I.

The Look

I’ll never forget that morning, I was on a “sabbatical” from college and was lucky that my grandfather offered me a job while I figured out what I wanted to do.

Live by Grace, not Perfection

I was in an early morning discussion just last week in a room I'd never visited before when a small sign grabbed my attention. It wasn’t that I was bored with the interaction that had my gaze wandering around the room, in fact, it was a phenomenal reading and deep diving discussion into human relationships.
